Project Description

Project Description: Assessing Digital Literacy and Literacy Across KPK and Punjab
This research initiative was designed to comprehensively evaluate the dual landscapes of traditional literacy and digital literacy within selected districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Punjab. As Pakistan transitions toward a more digitized economy, understanding the baseline level of technological literacy alongside fundamental reading and writing skills is crucial for designing inclusive public policies and educational interventions.

The study aimed to identify the core barriers to digital adoption, assessing how geographical location, gender, and socioeconomic status influence a household’s access to digital tools, internet connectivity, and tech-based learning resources. By mapping these dynamics across two major provinces, the project highlighted critical gaps in infrastructure and training, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

The operational focus of this project was centered on building a highly reliable, empirical dataset. Given the regional diversity of the target areas, the research framework required a standardized approach to measuring digital competencies, ranging from basic mobile phone usage to advanced internet navigation. Once the extensive fieldwork was completed, our team transitioned the raw data into a rigorous post-collection pipeline. The data was systematically cleaned and tabulated to ensure maximum accuracy and consistency. The finalized data tables were then seamlessly transitioned to the project’s report writer, providing a flawless foundation for the development of a final analytical report intended to guide future educational and digital inclusion strategies.

Description of Services Provided

Services Provided
For this dual-province assessment of digital and fundamental literacy, Versatile Consultants delivered a robust analytical framework designed to transform raw field observations into clear, policy-ready insights. Our services were focused on ensuring that the data collected was not only accurate but also structured in a way that revealed meaningful socioeconomic disparities across different regions and income demographics.

Following the quantitative interviews, our team managed the entire backend data lifecycle. We initiated the process with meticulous Data Cleaning and Coding, resolving inconsistencies and categorizing complex response variables to ensure the integrity of the dataset. Once the foundation was secured, we performed comprehensive Data analysis using SPSS, segmenting findings specifically by income levels and geographical areas. This rigorous breakdown was essential for identifying the specific digital divide barriers facing rural versus urban households.

To add depth to the analytical narrative, we conducted extensive Cross-tabulation of various variables, allowing the report writer to identify correlations between literacy rates, infrastructure access, and socioeconomic status. Finally, we translated these complex statistical outputs into clear Graphical representations, generating professional charts and graphs that visualized the findings. By providing this clean, analyzed, and visually organized dataset, we ensured that the final report could effectively communicate the state of literacy and digital inclusion to key stakeholders and policymakers.
